PLYWOOD (ROOMS)

When we talk about plywood, we speak of abstracted wood—a geometrized form of nature. The material’s uniformity and its flat application, precisely aligned with the room’s geometry, amplify the sense of abstraction.
I further enhance this effect by using a limited color palette of equal brightness, passive spatial lines, and the complete omission of shadows. Each composition is meticulously planned and executed through a slow, deliberate painting process. The depicted rooms are stripped of furniture and other objects, allowing the material to dominate the space. Everyday objects typically found in living spaces are instead represented separately in smaller formats. This approach renders them mobile, reflecting their transient presence in our daily lives.
