LULLS

I view a painting as an intimate object—a materialization of thought and a reconsidered redefinition of everyday elements. The primary subject of these works is the contemporary single-family house. I am drawn to the geometric nature of human-made dwellings in relation to their surrounding environment—a counterpoint between the order and precision of architecture and the organic softness of nature. In relation to human nature, this contrast lends stability and strength to the composition. Here, nature acts as a safeguard, a kind of Spanish screen, shielding the stark minimalism of the architecture.
