EMBEDDED
Compared to my previous works, where nature served merely as organic scenery alongside bare concrete houses, the landscape in these new paintings dominates the composition. The houses, by contrast, are reduced to bare structures—sometimes only suggesting their basic shape and the rhythm of apertures, other times appearing as empty silhouettes. Nature is portrayed as an integral, indispensable part of the human living environment, with built elements seamlessly merging into the greenery to form a unified whole. At the same time, the green areas—depicted with quick, sketch-like strokes—soften the rigid geometric forms of the buildings, creating a sense of movement and a constantly shifting reality within the paintings. In reflection of the epidemic, the series leans toward themes of isolation and an inevitable sense of embeddedness.
